J.C. Makes a Surprise Visit

Brings new life to this languid city

There were no limousines or caravans of flashing lights and campaign slogans to disrupt the city lull. John Fitzgerald Carson came to town, and truly blended in with the crowd. He gave no speeches; held no rallies. He simply talked and listened to individuals; getting to know people as they truly are, not as a member of some party or group. He discussed what they wanted to, only talking politics if they brought it up first. Casually, he would pass them a card before they parted; a discreet token identifying him as a senatorial candidate; a seat soon to be voted for. John Carson seemed to get along with everyone, never saying anything out of taste, and always ready with a clever comment or personal contribution to the topic at hand. Throughout the day the dull murmur of the city was brought to life with the chatter of this new candidate who swept in and made his mark. John Carson relied on himself and his seemingly endless world experience to carry his campaign, rather than flashy lights and backing from powerful names. He is truly a people person, who seems to have pleased the entire city, regardless of political affiliations and personal beliefs. Connecting with each voter individually seems to have secured John Fitzgerald Carson’s seat in the Texas Senate come election time.
